Governance Areas of Responsibility: SEND Governor and Strategy and School Development Governor
I volunteered to become a governor after retiring as a Headteacher and wanting to give back to education, as well as to continue to use my skills and expertise, gathered over many years.
The school where I was Head was a two-form entry school with 440 children from reception to Year 6, plus a 100 on roll in the nursey, with 75 children attending, in different groups, each morning or afternoon. It also had a Hearing Support Base to educate up to ten deaf children who were fully integrated into the school. Over the years I undertook school improvement work in other schools and was an Inspector for Ofsted.
I now spend my time with my grandchildren, enjoy walking with friends, reading, go to Pilates and Yoga and am a member of the Rotary Club.

Governance Areas of Responsibility – Pupil Premium and Looked After Children Governor
As a parent of a child within the school I am keen to help maintain a rich and creative environment for all children at Boughton Heath to learn and succeed.
I have twenty years of experience within the formal education sector as an artist, teacher, creative facilitator, educationalist and manager. Currently I am employed as Learning Manager at the Whitworth, University of Manchester. I care deeply about how arts and culture can support lifelong literacy and how creativity can be used as a tool to inform learning across all curriculum areas.
In my role as governor, I aim to bring critique, ideas and a creative mind-set to problem solving.
Dr Alex Forsey – Parent Governor
Term of Office: 15.12.17 – 14.12.21

Governance Areas of Responsibility: Health and Safety Governor
I have been a parent governor since 2017 and now have two children who attend Boughton Heath Academy. My day job is as a lecturer in mechanical engineering at The Open University and I find my experience through my work in laboratory safety useful for my link governor role of health and safety. I wanted to become a governor because I wanted to take an active role in supporting the school and so I hoped my skills with data would be useful to the board. Outside of parenting, academia and being a governor at Boughton Heath I am a keen cyclist and bass trombonist.
